Wednesday, August 14th, 7:00PM — Varsity Red Team
Thursday, August 15th, 6:30PM — White Division teams
Thursday, August 15th, 7:30PM — Horse Trainers (observe only)
Saturday, August 17th — TBD — Red Steppes* & El Latigo del Diablo*
^ This class requires alumni to bring their own horse.
* With permission from instructors
The Specifics
Not planning to ride? Come for the fun and festivities, as you never know who will show up! If you're feeling adventurous, ride in a drill or two.
If you plan to ride a horse, please ride in the base team from which you graduated. E.g., riders who graduated from Red Team may not ride in the Precisionettes alumni ride. You must be a graduate of Westernaires, in good standing, in order to partake in the riding portion of Alumni Week.
Interested in reserving a Westernaire rental string horse for your Alumni ride? Please send an email to westernaireswrangler@gmail.com to request one. In your email, please include your name, which team you graduated from (the class in which you're riding), and your horse preference (although they cannot guarantee that you will receive that horse). Rental fees are now $20 per hour. Please arrive one hour before your ride to groom and saddle your rental horse. Note: the Wranglers may not reply to your email, but rest assured that they received it.
Getting there
The entrance to Fort Westernaire is off of Indiana Street, about three blocks South of 6th Avenue.
(If you haven't been to Westernaires in some time, please note that the entrance is no longer accessed via the Frontage Road and through the Fairgrounds.)
